New faculty orientation is now a year-long series ofactivities. These include several half-day workshops and socialevents. The workshops are designed to facilitate interactions amongthe new faculty and inform them of university policy, services, technology, and events. The social events have been added to promoteacross-campus interactions and build a sense of community.
The New Faculty Orientation Committee has 15 membersrepresenting all colleges across campus. The committee's formation inthe summer of 1997 was a part of the University's involvement in theACE /Kellogg Project for institutional change in highereducation.
